Opal and Kelp Cast Glass Memorial Urn

Kelp is the name given a particularly rich golden color of transparent crystal. The opal effect in this urn appears as a diaphanous white veil foreground over a background of draped kelp patterns. The overall effect is truly three dimensional and utterly beautiful. Hammered copper bands with a mahogany patina grace the sides, and end in loops that serve as the lid fasteners. The surface of the urn has a chiseled texture, as if carved from stone. These tool marks, along with the aged patina of the copper, impart the feeling that this urn could be an ancient artifact. In fact, the materials employed with this urn insure that it will go forward in time, unchanged, and may someday become an artifact of our culture.
